On the 12th of October, 1979, I started as a mathematician at the University of Turku. Since then I have had different teaching, research, and visiting positions at several universities in Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. In honour of the day I gave a jubilee lecture in the universities where I work/have worked and where some of my former/current collaborators work.
