Current research interests

Generative-model-based methods in image processing and computer vision: I started on this line of research in 1991, as a postdoc with Horace Barlow in Cambridge, England. The original idea was to understand iterative computation in feedback loops in the brain, but I got carried away.

My research on tracking with active contours started within the Computational Vision Group at the University of Reading, England.

Until the end of 2006, I have been associated in some form with the Image Group at the Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen.

My enthousiasm about generative models really started with the development of the Cluster Tracker (see publications below).
