DIKU Business Club meeting for Executives and R&D staff

Tema: Artificial Intelligence - new center - new research - new services

This year's first meeting in DIKU Business Club will focus on a hot topic: the emergence of Artificial Intelligence in research and in society. AI is one of the Department's prioritized focus areas. A couple of research cases will be presented and the plans for establishing an AI Centre at University of Copenhagen will be further discussed.

We are working on a revision of our palette of services to DBC members  and will discuss these with the audience during the last 30 minutes of the meeting before proceeding to general networking and a light tapas meal.

The meeting is for Premium and Basic members of DIKU Business Club.

Program:

4.00  - 4.05: Welcome and introduction

4.05 – 4.20: Head of Department Mads Nielsen gives a brief statement of affairs at DIKU and presents the plans for a new AI Centre under establishment at the SCIENCE Faculty with DIKU as primary driving force.

4.20 – 4.40: Professor Christian Igel, appointed Head of the new AI Centre, talks about the role and activities of the center.

4.40 – 5.00: Professor Anders Søgaard presents som research cases within natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence.

5.00 – 5.15: Postdoc Oswin Krause shares experiences from a recent AI task solved for the company Sportscaster

5.15 – 5.30: Break

5.30 – 5.40: Associate professor Peter Carstensen and DBC coordinator Inge Hviid Jensen give a brief account of their work with new services for DIKU Business Club members.

5.40 – 6.00: Presentation of selected services and discussion with the audience.

6.00 – 6.30: Tapas, wine and networking.

Please register for the meeting using this link - no later than 5 February 2018.

You can park free at the parking lot near Universitetsparken 13 provided that you come and get a one-day parking license at the registration desk. So please come early.

Public Transportation to Universitetsparken 13:

Buses 42, 184, 185 150S og 15E leave from Nørreport Station and stop at Universitetsparken on Nørre Allé.
Bus 8A leaves from e.g. Valby Station, Nordhavn Station or Frederiksberg Metro Station and stop at Jagtvejen outside the Zoological Museum.
