Primære forskningsområder

My primary research field is Computer Science (Datalogi) and particularly image processing (Billedbehandling), computer graphics (Computergrafik), information theory (Informationsteori), and pattern recognition (Mønstergenkendelse).  These fields are highly interdisciplinary, which is why I am currently situated in the eScience Center.

Aktuel forskning

My present research involves:

1. Photon-mapping, where we model the progression of photons from light sources for the purpose of rendering realistic scenes
2. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), where we study segmentation and deformation of and tissue patterns in lungs as expressed in Computer Tomography (CT) images in large population studies.
3. Bayes methods (or equivalently Minimum Description Length) for investigating large and high dimensional data sets.
